Music in restaurants. What does your menu sound like?

These days a restaurant has to offer more than just practicable food and great service. It has to be an experience. It should deliver sensory inputs and embrace all your senses. A well adjusted playlist can enhance a restaurant experience, make guests stay longer and spend more money. In this bulletin we want to show you just how much music matters.

Of all sensory inputs, we respond quickest to sound. It is the sense that reaches the brain first and functions as an organizer for all the other senses. We don’t realize it but sound guides our choices all the time.

When brand-adjusted music is playing it makes guests more likely to buy additional items. A study has shown that dessert sales rose by 15,6% just because of the right music playing. Overall sales increased by 9,1 % when music that matched the brand was playing – compared to randomly selected popular songs.

So what are you waiting for?
